Step1 :

Select the portion of text which you want to highlight.

Step 2:

Go to the menu bar and click on the brush option. It will open up a color selection panel.

Now in the Menu bar, there is a brush option that displays unlimited color options in the Google Doc.

Step 3:

Select the color with which you want to highlight the text. The selected portion will be changed accordingly.


Create custom color for highlighting

If you do not like any of the default colors on display in the brush section, you can also go for the customized color options.

For that, you can see an option named Custom when you click the brush option.

After clicking the Custom option, a pop up will open with innumerable color options.

You can select any one of the colors by dragging the arrow or just by changing the Hue.


Remove Highlight

If you want to remove highlight then select the portion of text and click on None form the Color option Panel.

This will remove the highlight from the selected text.
