How to Add Grammarly in Word

Step #1: Download Grammarly for Word

Open your favorite browser.

Go to the website Grammarly for Microsoft Word and Outlook.

Click on the tab Get the add-in it’s free.

The file GrammarlyAdminSetup.exe will download in the Downloads folder.

Step #2: Install Grammarly for Word

Right-click on the file GrammarlyAdminSetup.exe.

In the menu that opens, click on Run as administrator to start the installation.

In the Welcome screen, click on the tab Get started.

In the next screen, select the proper product: Grammarly for Word.

Click on the Install tab.

The installation will complete with a congratulatory screen.

Click on the Finish tab.

Step #3: Launch Grammarly

Open Word.

If Word is already open, restart it.

Click on the Home tab in the top menu bar to change the ribbon.

In the section Grammarly, click on the Open Grammarly icon.

A panel will open on the right side.

Click on the Log in… tab.

Your browser will open to allow you to Sign in.

Enter your Email id.

Click on the Continue tab.

In the next screen, enter your password.

Click on the Sign in tab.

Note: If you do not have a Grammarly account, click on I don’t have an account to create one.

Or, sign in with your Google/Facebook/Apple account.

A dialog box will open.

Click to select Always allow https://www.grammarly.com to open grammarly.officeaddin links.

Click on the Open Link tab to close the dialog box.

A confirmation message will appear.

Click on the Open Grammarly tab.

Word will show a new tab Grammarly, and a new ribbon entry.

Step #4: Using Grammarly

Open a document in Word.

Click on the Grammarly tab in the top menu bar to change the ribbon.

In the section Grammarly, click on the Open Grammarly icon.

Grammarly window will open on the right side.

Word document will show errors marked in red.

Grammarly will show corresponding recommendations on the right side window.

Right-click on an error to see the detailed explanation of the error by Grammarly.

Make the necessary changes.
